Some things are too hard so we stick with something that can be made in a few hours. We have probably made most things now so we are repeating some of the previous workshops.  In the run up to Tet for January we are makign some hanging decorations which can be incuded as part of Tet lunar new year decorations. \nThese little hanging squares may seem very easy but the whole display is probably one of the most challenging and fun of all the workshops. This one takes some time and concentration. \nThe workshop consists of 2 hanging decorations made up of  6 small squares  ‘shells’. 3 sides are  pre-sewn\, we fill them with cotton wool stuffing and hand sew the 4th side to secure.  Thread the beads and make the mini pompons and attach as per the photo below.  You can vary the display and keep them all single or attach them in 1 long string of 6 or in pairs or triples. Its up to you \n \nNumbers – Min 5\, very max 10 people for this workshop to run. This workshop needs extra support from the Chie staff so very max 10 pax \nAmount – VND 390\,000 pp\, includes instruction\, all materials\, herbal tea\, and green bean cake \nVenue – Chie Dù Pù Dù Pà\, in Hang Trong street \nRSVP – Stella@fvheritage.org \nWelcome email will be sent to those confirmed on the workshop a few days before \nPlease follow and like us:Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading... Hanoi has fewer and fewer residents who can truly call this city their home ever since the day of their birth. \nMeet our lovely FVH friend who helps FVH behind the scenes with cultural and personal information\, about society and the city\, and the evolving faces of Hanoi. Nguyễn Viết Dũng has offered to host a round table discussion at his home in Ngọc Thụy\, Gia Lâm \nDũng was born in 1942 into a well-read culture-loving family with well-informed parents who themselves had an interesting history. He was educated in the French system\, he set up a construction company in Hanoi in the early days of his working life\, and now he and his wife Thanh (a former leading ophthalmologist at the national eye hospital) live a quiet retired life which sees Dũng doing a lot of cultural research and translating books and poems into VN\, French and even German and vice-versa. Highly educated and with a head full of knowledge Dũng will share many fascinating stories from growing up in the last decade of the French period to the present day. \nHe has been an integral part of FVH ever since we were formed. He has also introduced FVH to many of our other lovely friends such as Tôn Thất Triêm who set  up the Hope Choir. One of our main FVH founders Hữu Ngọc (cultural writer\, editor and author) was one of his best friends\, and our amazing Trần Doãn Lâm (who does our lectures) is in his close friendship circle. \n \nPlease RSVP to: stella@fvheritage.org and include your mobile number \nNumbers: max 10 pax \nVND 200\,000 per person for donation to Dũng for his time and refreshments \nVenue: Ngọc Thụy\, Gia Lâm – exact address will be sent to those who are confirmed on the talk \nDuration: a few hours and please stay on longer for more chatting and some late afternoon refreshments \n  \n  \n©1999 Friends of Vietnam Heritage.
